將軍村過去是陸軍金門防衛司令部高級將領的居住地——「百顆星星的家」，於今已轉變為歷史聚落，除了保有珍貴的歷史記憶與獨特的生活紋理外，也成為新竹市新的眷村聚落容貌。「轉個彎，走入將軍村」常設展，強調將軍村場域的開放性、公共性、常民性與生活性。以將軍村原住戶及其後代的生命經驗為經緯，由下而上展開歷史梳理、詮釋以及轉譯。透過常設展和原住戶齊心合作，邀請大眾的參與，展開再認識、再思考、再對話，一起實踐「將軍村開放圖書資訊園區」的再利用。以曾經的將軍住所，如今的知識與生活社群切入，在延續眷村的人情味與老智慧同時，也交織著人們對未來的探索與想像。透過新、舊新竹人的參與，共同形塑生活願景、建構生命共同體。

Known as the “home to a hundred stars,” Generals’ Village, once the residences of senior generals of the ROC Army’s Kinmen Defense Command (KDC), has been transformed into a historical settlement which not only preserves precious memories of history and unique traces of life, but also appears as a new military dependents’ village in Hsinchu City. Titled “Make a Turn and Walk into Generals’ Village,” this permanent exhibition highlights the openness, publicness, vernacularity, and livingness of this settlement site. Based on the life experiences of the original residents and their descendants, this exhibition employs a bottom-up approach to collate, interpret, and translate the history of this village. Through this permanent exhibition and the concerted effort of the original residents, we encourage public engagement in associated rediscovery, rethinking, and re-dialogue, so as to revitalize the “Generals’ Village Open Library and Information Park.” Treating the former residences of generals and today’s epistemic and life community as the entry point, this exhibition features people’s intertwined exploration and imagination of the future whilst sustaining the human touch and the traditional wisdom of the military dependents’ village. This exhibition expects to shape a new vision of life and construct a community with a shared future via the participation of both locals and newcomers in Hsinchu City.
